I wanted to develop my skills in camera work and I have
found a passion for photography so I took a range of different photos to
practice in this area. I wanted to improve a weakness of mine in this area
which was how to control the light in a shot. I thought that I could use my
interest in taking pictures for practising my weakness. I also wanted to
practice how to angle shots correctly to compose the shot with interest to the
eye. The aim of the project was about experimenting and developing the skills
which then could be carried into my major project.
I tried to develop my camera skills by using different
compositions in the shots and a range of locations. The techniques to
photograph then lead me to experimental editing. During my time on the course I
have really enjoyed using Adobe Photoshop and Aftereffects so I wanted to use
the photos to explore into them. The aim to the editing procedure was to take
each photo and edit it in three different ways before chosen the final photo for
print. This approach to the editing was enjoyable because it allowed me to be
more creative and arty which was apart of the overall aim.
Seeing the end results to the photos has made me reflect on
how much I have improved my camera and editing skills but also how much I have
learnt from approaching the task the way I did.
